Dark Sentences

TrafficSwarm member since January 2014

Here is the infamous verse that causes many sensationalist babblers to believe that Dark Sentences is a sinister attribute of the Antichrist, or simply that it has a sinister conotation.

Daniel 8:23 "And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up."

Many babblers have twisted this scripture by misquoting it, or misrepresenting it in the following ways; "King of dark sentences", and "(he) will speak dark sentences", or "speaking dark sentences", and so on.

These babblers simply do not understand the verse itself, or know of whom it speaks, but that is a whole other topic, which I will address in a latter article. I can say this, if they knew either of whom it speaks, or of what it is meant to understand dark sentences they could understand much more.

Let's just read this verse again, carefully, and attempt to make some sense of it. Firstly, we will realize that it says nothing of a "king of dark sentences", and as we continue through this article, we will see that this is not the only reference to dark sayings, or dark sentences, and we will allow the bible to clear this issue of dark sentences up for us, rather than using our own logic and super human brain power to try and decide what this means.

Daniel 8:23 "And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full , a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up."

Now lets look at the other verses that ring the same thing.

Numbers 12:8 "With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold : wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?"

Psalm 49:4 "I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp."

Psalm 78:2 "I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:"

Psalm 105:28 "He sent darkness, and made it dark ; and they rebelled not against his word."

Proverbs 1:6 "To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings."

Micah 3:6 "Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine ; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them."

So, of this "...a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up", what do you think these dark sayings or sentences are?

I know what they are, and you too, should now know. But for the sake of carifying, and for the benifit of Christ's service, it is prophecy. That king would not be the first pagan, ungodly king to understand prophecy. They are in the histories recorded in the bible if you don't already know of them, in which case, I would sugesst that you read the bible a bit more. "Seek and you will find."

May God continue to lead you into truth, and away from those babbling brooks.

Note: I would appreciate if you would return, and read the next article, Daniel 8:23, "Who is the king of fierce countenance?" Is he the Antichrist? Is he yet to come? Is he here now? or, Is he a king from times past?

This will truely amaze you, as it has me.
